The California Coalition for Worker Power (CCWP) is a group of worker centers, worker advocates, labor policy experts and labor unions dedicated to ensuring that every worker in California has the power to come together and improve their work conditions and their communities. We believe that all work is valuable and that all working people must have a voice in order for California to succeed in creating a more just and equitable society.
Coordinating Committee
CCWP convened over 300 individuals from 80 organizations at California’s first Worker Power Assembly in May 2024. It united staff and worker-leaders from unions, worker centers, advocacy organizations, and community-based groups to build community and share strategies for strengthening worker power. Rank & file leaders of worksite campaigns spoke at the Assembly and attendees chose from over a dozen participatory workshops on topics including climate and worksite safety, retaliation, labor/community partnerships, and organizing in rural communities.

Over 50 organizations joined CCWP in Sacramento for legislative advocacy in 2025, representing communities from the Central Coast, Los Angeles region, Bay Area, Inland Empire, Imperial, San Diego, Sacramento region, and the San Joaquin Valley. Approximately 100 organizations participated in our virtual programming, including campaign meetings and skill-building workshops.
